NGO Federation Nepal distributes relief to 104 fire-affected families in Mahottari

Matihani, Mahottari - NGO Federation of Nepal (NFN) distributed relief to the fire-affected families of Ward No. 6 in Matihani Municipality of Mahottari district on 3 rd May 2024. It was an attempt to address the urgent food requirements of these families, the majority of whom are from the Muslim community. As reported by the Kathmandu Post, a fire ignited from a haystack on April 24, sweeping through Ward No. 6 and consuming 110 homes, rendering numerous families homeless and destroying their possessions and food supplies. In response to the urgent food needs of affected families, NFN provided food packages to 104 families, consisting of 24 kg of rice and 2 kg of lentils. This initiative was made in close coordination with the Local Disaster Risk Management Committee (LDRMC) of Matihani Municipality. While the distribution directly targeted 104 families, it is estimated to have benefited approximately 534 individuals.
